1. Who qualifies
Wholesale accounts are for retailers with a physical store, such as garden centers, nurseries, gift shops, local-goods shops, and museum, park and nature-center shops. You’ll need a valid sales tax license or resale certificate. We review every application and may decline or close an account for any lawful reason.

- Pick Any 4 and the Seed Club aren’t available wholesale.
- You set your own retail prices. Suggested retail prices are only suggestions.
- We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of any wholesale price change. Orders placed before a change are filled at the old price.
3. Minimums and ordering
- Opening order: $150 minimum. Reorders: $100 minimum.
- Order by email at wholesale@prairiepostseed.com or through the wholesale form on our website. If we later sell through a wholesale marketplace such as Faire, orders placed there follow that marketplace’s terms, which may have different minimums and payment terms.
- Your opening order includes a free shelf talker and display header card.
4. Payment
- Opening orders are paid by Stripe invoice (card or U.S. bank transfer) before delivery.
- Reorders are invoiced Net 15 (due 15 days after the invoice date) for accounts in good standing.
- If an invoice is more than 15 days past due, we may hold new orders, move your account back to prepayment, and charge a late fee of 1.5% per month on the overdue amount, or the highest rate the law allows if that is lower.
5. Sales tax
To buy tax-free for resale, give us a completed resale certificate before your first invoice: Missouri Form 149 (Sales and Use Tax Exemption Certificate) for Missouri stores, or your own state’s resale certificate. Without one, we charge sales tax where it applies.
6. Delivery
- Orders are ready within 5 business days of payment (or of your reorder, on Net 15 terms).
- Free delivery on business days to your store in St. Charles County, St. Louis County or the City of St. Louis, Missouri. We’ll agree on a delivery window.
- Elsewhere in the contiguous United States, we ship by USPS or UPS at our cost of shipping, quoted up front and added to your invoice, except to states where we can’t ship seed yet (listed in our Shipping & Returns policy).
7. Damage, shortages and returns
Please check your order when it arrives. If anything is damaged, missing or wrong, email wholesale@prairiepostseed.com with photos within 7 days of delivery. We’ll replace it or credit your account, whichever you prefer. Otherwise, wholesale orders are final sale, and we don’t take back unsold stock, except through the sell-by swap in section 8.
8. Storing and selling seed
Seed is a living product, and seed laws regulate how it’s labeled and sold. To keep our packets fresh and legal on your shelves:
- Store and display packets somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sun and away from heaters, sunny windows and watering areas.
- Don’t open, refill, repackage or relabel our packets, and don’t cover or remove any part of the label.
- Sell our packets only until the “Sell by” date printed on the back. Pull any packet past that date, or that got wet or damaged, from sale.
- Sell-by swap. At the end of each selling season, give us the packets that reached their sell-by date and we’ll swap them for fresh packets at no charge, up to 10% of what your store bought from us that season (counted at wholesale prices).
- Describe our products only in ways that match our labels and product information. Don’t describe them as organic or non-GMO, promise germination beyond the tested figures on the label, or make health or medical claims.
9. Our Grow Guarantee for your customers
Every packet you sell is covered by our Grow Guarantee. Your customers can contact us directly and we’ll take care of them. You don’t have to handle seed claims.
10. Using our name and images
- While your account is open, you may use our name, logo, product photos and illustrations, and product descriptions to promote our products in your store, on your own website and in your ads and social media. Please don’t alter them.
- With your permission, we may list your store as a place to buy our products.
- You may sell our products in your store and on your own store’s website. Please don’t sell them on third-party marketplaces (such as Amazon, eBay, Etsy or Walmart Marketplace) without our written permission.
- There’s no exclusivity: either of us may work with anyone else.
11. Our promise and its limits
- Our promise to your store: our products will match their labels and our product descriptions when delivered, and seed will meet the information on its label when delivered. If they don’t, we’ll replace them or credit your account.
- EXCEPT FOR THE PROMISE ABOVE, WE MAKE NO OTHER WARRANTIES TO YOUR STORE, AND WE DISCLAIM ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES, INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TO THE EXTENT THE LAW ALLOWS. This doesn’t limit the Grow Guarantee we give your customers.
- To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits or for incidental, consequential or indirect damages, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
12. Responsibility for claims
- We’ll stand behind our products. If a third party sues your store claiming that one of our products, as we delivered it and sold unaltered, caused bodily injury or property damage because of a defect in the product or its label, we’ll defend your store and pay any resulting judgment or settlement we approve.
- Your store will stand behind its actions. If a claim arises from how your store stored, altered, relabeled, repackaged or described our products, or from your store’s own negligence, your store will defend us and pay any resulting judgment or settlement it approves.
- Whoever asks for protection under this section must tell the other promptly, let them control the defense, and cooperate. If your store needs a certificate of our insurance, ask us.
13. Ending the account
Either of us may close the account at any time by email. Invoices already issued are still due, and we’ll fill any order we’ve already accepted unless we both agree otherwise. Sections 7, 9, 11 and 12 continue after the account closes.
14. If there’s a problem
Talk to us first; most problems are solved quickly. Missouri law governs these terms. Disputes that can’t be worked out go to the state courts located in St. Charles County, Missouri, or the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri. Either of us may use small claims court if the claim qualifies. Our Terms of Sale and Use cover anything these terms don’t. If our written agreement with your store says something different, that agreement controls.
